The Struggle Before the Storm

Rocket, Katness, Soxs and Ezmerelda were peacefully lounging on the couch, listening to the radio when an announcer broadcasted that a HUGE hurricane was headed in their direction!  Katness swiftly grabbed the remote and turned on the television to make sure it wasn’t a joke, immediately switching it onto the news.  The reporter was cautioning it’s expected to hit in two days.  Sure enough, everyone was panicking!  They were shocked and completely unprepared.  Soxs pulled Ezmerelda in for a hug, sensing she needed a little reassurance.  Rocket started pacing the floor to collect his thoughts.  Several tense minutes passed, Rocket was deep in thought, the disturbing silence was finally broken by Katness.  “Rocket, our house, all of us will be gone soon!” Katness said sorrowfully.  Rocket stood tall, puffing his chest out, confident he had the solution.  “Yes, our house may get destroyed, but we won’t be” Rocket boldly remarked.  “What do you mean?” Katness wept.  “I mean we pack up, leave and then we can return once it’s safe again.” Rocket clarified.  Soxs jumped up, hugging Rocket, his older brother, tightly.  “There is zero time to waste then!” Ezmerelda fearlessly replied.  Rocket dug in the closet and pulled out four backpacks and handed all of them out.  Everyone scrambled to grab the   essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, elegant attire, and snacks.  Soxs grabbed the R.V keys, “everyone needs to load their bags in the R.V, so we can get ahead of the hurricane!” he instructed.  In less than five minutes, Rocket, Katness, Soxs and Ezmerelda were driving safely away from the storm.
