Recently, my family and I visited an American Legion post near my house, Post 252. While there, I noticed pieces of paper posted around asking for more volunteers. Specifically for servers. I had previous experience serving at an Elks Lodge also close to my house. It was brief, but I worked enough to know the basic idea of how to do it. I emailed the 252 post about possibly volunteering. The emails I received back weren’t clear on age restrictions or schedules. Instead of emailing back and forth, I decided to take the bus to The American Legion and discuss things in person. After talking with a few people, I got signed up for training until I’m 15. I want to work for The American Legion Post 252 because of what they do for youth and how they make an environment comfortable for everyone. This job will also give me good experience.
